READERS' WORKSHOP  (M & W)

 
 
EVERY week students will be responsible for:
  • "Monday Musing" based on the weekly song or poem
  • Reader's Response Letter
  • Signed Reading Log
  • 2 pages front and back in Class Journal 
    
 
 
 
 WRITERS' WORKSHOP  (T & Th)
 
 
EVERY Quarter students will be responsible for writing 6 final pieces based on reactions to the "Monday Musings".  Each piece should be turned in with 2 drafts (edited by peers).  Students must schedule a consultation before finishing the 1st draft. Consultations thereafter are optional.  Students are responsible for:
  • 2 original poems (at least 8 lines each)
  • 1 short story (1pg front and back)
  • 1 memoir (1-2 pgs front and back)
  • 1 research paper (5 paragraph essay)
  • 1 interview (1-2 pgs front and back)
